80’s Heavy Metal is gay – Part 1
This is an article I wrote 1 year ago for an Assignment I had at Uni. Hope you’ll enjoy! I’ll post it divided into differents pieces.
Part One
Homosexuality freedom…a target to reach!
We all know that from very long times, the homosexual organizations are fighting to get equal consideration and rights for gay and lesbians, in many ways, Music is one of these. 80’s music, and band names could be seen as an action of sexual liberation. The lines you are going to read could sound a little bit offensive or dirty, but you will see that all the listed names and things are just here to state my point of view.
So, if we look back on the music scene of the 1980s, one thing sticks out – Heavy Metal. Not just the real traditional heavy metal, but metal of the hair band variety. And the major observation that we could come up with about the heavy metal scene in the 80s is that the whole thing was gay or at least that’s what it seems. I’m not really saying that all of the 80’s heavy metal people are gay, but they were definitely putting up a homosexual front (probably to sell more records). And I’m not talking about openly gay heavy metal guys like Rob Halford of Judas Priest; as I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with being gay, just that hair metal is a sorte of homosexual scream of liberation…as to say “We are here, and we worth the same as you!”

A myth and her videos!
Yeah! She was the myth of my, our, present past…the image of the gay happiness and music able to mix gays and straights all together! How many moments I can remember thanks to her songs, the fun I had, the summers in Italy to my parents’, and alll the times she edited a new song I was ready to learn it and to listen it till the end of time! eheheh! Dunno how famous she was over England and out of Italy but she is the new millennium girl, the one that in a loundry was ready to ask you to do “up&down” and ready to cenfess : “I keep on burning…I need you once again!“… Billy More!

Finally Doctor!
Finally I got graduated! After so many difficulties and so many sleepless nights, all the crazy moments I had and that my friends had to bear (thx guys)….I did it!! Finally Doctor in Cultural Tursim and International Cooperation!
The night before? I didn’t sleep at all! I had a series of strange nightmares….and all the morning I had to wait for the afternoon….well I spent my time listening to Billy More’s Songs….they relax and amuse me a lot!

Since the first day I watched a very famous commercil on the tv (at least it is really famous here in Italy) I am always so f*****g scared of eating and chewing those chewing gums!It was not sufficient that my friend bugged me with the name “vigorsol” because of my nipples ( a bit big saying the truth)… but now it’s becoming a seriuos fear!

OMG! You can’t think about my last night! I went clubbing with some friends of mine and my lovely boyfriend…but the danger was hidden at the corner! As you know here in Italy it’s the International day of women on 8th March. We went to a pub hoping not to find too many horny and mad women…but we had to que for about 1 hour coz of the huge amount of girls, ladies, and various “desperate housewives” outside there!
